Introduction of Activity

This workshop uses Pokémon card games as a starting point to help students explore practical translation techniques. It covers translation strategies for Pokémon names, move descriptions, card visuals, and promotional materials. The workshop also introduces how AI tools can be used to support the translation process. Through hands-on exercises and group activities, students will gain a foundational understanding of game localization and computer-assisted translation.

Dr. Siu received his BA (First Class Honours) and MPhil from the University of Hong Kong and he completed his PhD in Translation at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. His research interests include translation history, translation theories, game translation, artificial intelligence, and digital humanities.
