Introduction of activity | This workshop aims to provide secondary school students with an overview of video game translation, a cutting-edge field in the translation industry. It will cover a diverse range of topics, including technologies for translating game assets and promotional materials, challenges of localizing augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) games, and strategies for creating multilingual web games. Participants will also have the opportunity to develop practical skills and gain a deeper understanding of video game translation by creating a bilingual online mini-game. |

Introduction to Instructor(s) | Dr Siu Sai Yau Assistant Professor School of Translation and Foreign Languages Dr SIU Sai Yau received his BA (First Class Honours) and MPhil from The University of Hong Kong and he completed his PhD in Translation at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. His research interests include translation history, translation theories, game translation, and digital humanities, etc. |
