Introduction of activity | This workshop is designed to provide secondary school students with a concise introduction to audiovisual translation, a flourishing sector within the translation industry. We will also explore a wide array of subjects, from cutting-edge AI technologies in multilingual dubbing and subtitling to effective strategies for translating various multimedia content. Moreover, participants will gain valuable hands-on experience by engaging in multilingual media production, supported by sophisticated digital tools. |

Introduction to Instructor(s) | Dr SIU Sai Yau Assistant Professor School of Translation and Foreign Languages Dr Siu received his BA (First Class Honours) and MPhil from the University of Hong Kong and he completed his PhD in Translation at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. His research interests include translation history, translation theories, game translation, and digital humanities. |
